Step-by-Step Guide: Setting Up an Alarm in Consibio Cloud
Setting up an alarm in Consibio Cloud is a straightforward process that ensures you receive timely notifications when specific events occur in your projects. Follow these simple steps to configure an alarm:
- Access the Alarms Tab
- Configure Private Alarm Settings
- Choose the Alarm Type
- Define the Alarm Parameter
- Define Value Limit Thresholds
- Set the Notify By Option
- Fine-Tune Minimum Notification Interval
- Save and Test
- Monitor and Respond
Step 1: Access the Alarms Tab
Log in to your Consibio Cloud account and navigate to the "Alarms" tab. This is where you can manage and create alarms for your projects. Press the “Add new alarm” button.
Step 2: Configure Private Alarm Settings
Determine whether the alarm should be private to your user account or visible to all project members. Set the "Private Alarm" option accordingly.
Step 3: Choose the Alarm Type
Select the type of alarm you want to set up. You have two options: "Value Limit Alarm" or "Device Offline Alarm." Decide based on the specific condition you want to monitor.
a) Value Limit Alarm: Triggers when a measured value goes beyond a defined limit, such as a temperature exceeding 25°C. Ideal for critical parameter monitoring.
b) Device Offline Alarm: Alerts you when a Consibio Logger goes offline. Essential for detecting power outages or loss of connectivity in your processes or projects.
Step 4: Define the Alarm Parameter
For the alarm to trigger accurately, you need to specify the Alarm Parameter. This could be a physical device, like a pH sensor, or a virtual sensor defined in your project.
Step 5: Define Value Limit Thresholds (if applicable)
If you are setting up a "Value Limit Alarm," specify the upper and lower limits for the parameter you're monitoring. This will define the range within which the alarm should trigger.
Step 6: Set the Notify By Option
Choose how you want to receive notifications when the alarm is triggered. You have three options: "Do Not Notify," "E-mail," or "SMS." Select the most suitable method for you.
Step 7: Fine-Tune Minimum Notification Interval
You can adjust the minimum notification interval to receive notifications at desired time intervals.
Step 8: Save and Test
Review all your alarm settings to ensure they match your requirements. No need to do anything further, your alarm is already saved and running. Consider testing the alarm to ensure notifications are being delivered correctly.
Step 9: Monitor and Respond
With your alarm successfully set up, you will now receive notifications whenever the specified conditions are met. Monitor your alarms regularly and respond promptly to any critical events to ensure smooth operations in your IoT projects.
By following these steps, you can easily configure alarms in Consibio Cloud and enjoy the benefits of real-time notifications, keeping you informed and in control of your IoT projects.
